After months of darkness and cold, the sun has finally risen in Antarctica for the first time since this past May.

The photo comes via the European Space Agency, and the background has the Concordia science station in the background. Since May, the long -112 degree Fahrenheit weather and no sunlight left, the residents of the Concordia were completely isolated from the rest of the world.
Nothing can be delivered, there’s no way to leave. It must be quite the relief to see the Sun – and the coming ‘summer’ weather.
