You can speed up your Windows boot-up time by disabling any unneeded/unwanted programs from loading at boot.  Here’s how:

After you get your computer started up, if you have to sit around, waiting for Windows to eventually finish it’s loading time, chanced are some programs are set to start automatically when your computer boots up.

To review and then disable these programs, head over to the start menu, hit “Run…”, and type in “msconfig”.

In the Startup tab, uncheck anything you don’t want to automatically load.  For example, turn off any instant messenger service you no longer use, but absolutely leave virus scan on.  Without so many needless programs hogging your CPU’s power from the start, your PC will start faster and we will all be happier.
