Space is a noisy, noisy place.

The prevailing thoughts about going into space include silence and vacuums: theres nothing out there and, after all, no one can hear you scream.  Thanks to a clip from Canadian Astronaut Chris Hadfield, we now know that the International Space Space is really freaking loud.

The International Space Station, after all, is filled with computers and devices all working their best to keep those space cowboys alive.  Oxygen recycling, Waste recycling, Heat, thrusters.  All these things leak little bits of noise into the background make for a very interesting, if not distracting, work environment.

Having astronauts post and upload from space is a fantastic, jaw dropping idea.  I hope Hadfield gets an instragram account before he comes back to planet Earth.
