MIT researchers create a measurable virtual reality system designed to visualize a robot’s perceptions and understanding of the world.

The system was developed by Shayegan Omidshafiei, a graduate student, and Agha-mohammadi.  The robot’s plan projected on the ground with the help of ceiling-mounted projectors with motion-capture technology and animation software.  If successful, the system might help in the improvement of efficiency and safety of new technologies like package-delivery drones or self-driving cars.
