Apple’s Multitasking is not merely an update function.  As you use your iPhone, Multitasking figures out which apps you use more than others, and updates based on your habits.  These updates also adapt to your current network, so if you have 2 bars and no 3G, it wont even try to update.

Multitasking.  Its about time.
