XP still stands as one of the most secure and beloved versions of Windows. However, if you have an Administrative account on your XP machine, and you forget/lose your password, no one will be able to access that machine again. Even. A password recovery disk can save you a huge headache.
Here’s how to create a Password Recover Disk:
- In Control Panel, go to User Accounts.
- Click on your User Account.
- On the upper left-hand corner, click “Prevent forgotten password.”
You’ll need a CD or a floppy disk to create a recovery disk and you should store that in a secure place you won’t soon forget. If you change your password, the disk will still work, but it will only work on the physical computer on which it was originally made.
