Google has unveiled plans for a new 1.1 million square foot campus in Mountain View, California. This marks the first time Google will construct its own offices from the ground up.
The Campus, dubbed ‘Bay View’ will be designed by Seattle-based architecture firm NBBJ. Sitting closer to San Francisco than Google’s current campus, the new building will consist of nine different buildings in close proximity to each other.
David Radcliffe, Google’s Manger of Real Estate, says the campus will provide easy access for employees and that “no employee in the 1.1-million-square-foot complex will be more than a two-and-a-half-minute walk from any other.”
Google currently has over 35,000 employees working out of almost 65 separate buildings.
