Apple’s highly publicized, fault-filled rollout of the iPhone 4 has hit its latest snag – a lack of reception. The wizards at Gizmodo – no strangers to the iPhone 4 – are petitioning a fix.

While Apple.com still has no mention of the issue on its news page, several customers contacted Apple to say their newest apple gizmo loose reception when you hold it by the antennae. Apple acknowledged the issue suggesting you don’t hold it that way.
[…”Gripping any mobile phone will result in some attenuation of its antenna performance, with certain places being worse than others depending on the placement of the antennas. This is a fact of life for every wireless phone. If you ever experience this on your iPhone 4, avoid gripping it in the lower left corner in a way that covers both sides of the black strip in the metal band, or simply use one of many available cases.”…]
Gizmodo called this a design flaw, which it clearly is, and posted an article asking its readers to sign a petition, suggesting apple fix their mistakes – by giving out free iPhone cases.
The idea is promising, but we can imagine Jobs-o might still be ticked over Gizmodo’s early unveiling of his new toy. However, Apple generally puts out great products and the newest iPhone is no exception. Thanks to its incredible display, ever-present app store, and newly minted feature ‘facetime’, the iPhone 4 is the best one yet. And with throws of loyal – often fan boyish – customers, Apple owes their patrons better than having them shell out more money.
