The team from RIKEN were able to grow skin from mice stem cells. Unlike previous versions of lab-grown skin, doesn’t have just one layer, but all three, including follicles and oil-glands.
Researchers used furry mice to allow the stem cells to grow to maturity before transplanting them on non-furred mice, where the skin and hair was able to take rook quickly.
