Aston Martin has announced details of a technical partnership with AMG, the high performance arm of Mercedes-Benz.
What exactly does this mean you may ask? Well it means that Aston martin will be planning a partnership in a supply agreement with Mercedes-AMG, Daimler AG and Aston Martin. Although Aston Martin will continue to produce all of its cars at its headquarters in Gaydon, Warwickshire, it confirmed, the deal would mean that its next generation of models would use electronics and engines that benefit from the superior resources of Mercedes.
Daimler AG, the parent company to Mercedes-AMG, would own a stake of up to five per cent of non-voting shares in Aston Martin, depending on the progress of the agreement. It would join the existing shareholders, which include Investment DAR, Adeem Investment and Investindustrial.
In other news, now taking care of the Aston Martins will greatly increase. Not that any of us could afford such a car, but given the fact that Mercedes is one of the most difficult cars to try to get service for; due to the electrical works of the engine and the necessary computer equipment to fix everything.
My dream of being able to drive an Aston Martin is that much further away now.
